Parent Committee

Parental involvement and input is highly valued at Seabird Island Community School. The Parent Committee serves as a vital link between families and the school administration, ensuring parents have a voice in their children’s education. This dedicated group of parent volunteers works closely with school staff to provide feedback, raise concerns, and suggest improvements reflecting the Seabird community’s needs and values.

According to Seabird Island Education Law, the role of the parent’s committee is to encourage parent involvement in the school and to support programs that promote parent involvement.  They promote open communication through regular meetings and by organizing family-oriented events and activities throughout the year. Their advocacy efforts help uphold the school’s philosophy that the ultimate responsibility for education belongs to parents, learners, and the community itself. By volunteering their time and perspectives, committee members make invaluable contributions toward fostering an inclusive, culturally-grounded education for Seabird Island students.
