Elementary School Learning Academy

The Elementary School (ES) Learning Academy at Seabird Island Community School provides an excellent opportunity for students to get extra support and tutoring outside of regular class time. It is a scheduled period each day from 3:05-3:45pm where teachers can arrange for students who need assistance completing missed work, homework assignments, or could benefit from some extra academic support and tutoring. Teachers are expected to contact the parents/guardians of any students who would gain from attending the ES Learning Academy to make arrangements. If teachers are unavailable during this time slot, they can work with their educational assistants to run the Learning Academy sessions for students in need of the additional academic support. The Learning Academy allows for more individualized instruction in a small group setting to reinforce key concepts and skills.
