Code of Conduct
Seabird Island Community School’s code of conduct is founded on three core principles: being ready, respectful, and responsible. This simple yet powerful philosophy governs how students are expected to conduct themselves at all times. Being ready means coming to school each day prepared and engaged to learn. Respectful behavior is demonstrated by caring about how one’s actions affect others and showing empathy. Taking responsibility requires self-control, patience, optimism, and involvement in the school community.
The code of conduct outlines specific rules like being free of discriminatory language, not promoting drugs/alcohol, adhering to dress code, and not using electronic devices during instructional time. However, the overarching expectation is for students to uphold the values of being respectful, nurturing, supportive, and leaders in their educational journey. By living by these principles, Seabird students contribute to a positive school culture where all members feel safe, valued, and able to reach their full potential.
